Centrifuge
This is a machine, based on a fast rotational movement, which is able to reach 30000 revs/min.
Centrifuges are used to separate the particles according to their mass, i.e. the heaviest find themselves most distant from the axis of rotation.
In analytical chemistry, a centrifuge is used to concentrate a precipitate at the bottom of a tube, in biology it is used to separate the components of blood, and in nuclear chemistry it enables the separation of the isotopes of uranium.
