Mass spectrometry

Mass spectrometry (MS) is a method of analysis based on very precise measurements of the masses of atomic and molecular species.

A mass spectrometer measures the deviation imposed on the trajectory of particles ionized under the action of an electric field.

This technique of analysis is used to determine empirical formulae and structural sequences.
