A spectroscopic technique which exploits the resonance in transitions between nuclear spin levels under the influence of an external magnetic field.

NMR spectroscopy, which can be applied to ¹H, ¹³C , ¹⁹F, ³¹P and many other nuclei with a spin quantum number of one half, is a technique which is central to the study of the molecular structures.
