Graduated pipette

A pipette which is able to qualitatively deliver variable volumes of liquid by means of graduations along the cylindrical part of the pipette.

Measuring pipette
Volumetric pipette

A calibrated pipette, also known as a volumetric pipette, which is used for delivering precise volumes with a guaranteed high degree of accuracy.

Pasteur Pipette
Droping pipette

A small often disposable pipette used to qualitatively transfer small volumes of liquid. Such pipettes do not have graduation marks.

Pipette filler

Instead of sucking up the liquid into a measuring pipette by mouth, a rubber bulb filler attached to the top end of the pipette MUST be used on safety grounds.

Pi pump
Pipette pump

Small device intended to safely handle and transfer the liquid in a pipette.

Syringe

A device for transferring small amounts of liquid quantitatively. It comprise a calibrated barrel and a piston and may be operated manually or mechanically.

Rubber teat/bulb
Propipette (trade mark)

A rubber teat/bulb is used to take up a liquid into a Pasteur pipette, a graduated pipette and a measuring pipette so as to avoid having to apply suction by mouth.
