Rate of return flow
A term used in refluxing.
The rate of the return flow depends on the heating applied to the flask and the efficiency of the condenser.
Reflux
This consists of heating a liquid to boiling and condensing the vapour using a condenser. Such a system makes it possible to maintain a practically constant temperature for a reacting mixture.
