Soxhlet extraction

Extraction of soluble substances from solid samples with the aid of a hot solvent. The extraction is made in a special apparatus named Soxhlet extractor.

The solvent evaporates, it is condensed by a condenser, and accumulate in a siphon containing the solid product to be extracted.

When the solvent reaches a certain level it siphons out taking the dissolved solid with it.
