Thermostat
A device for enabling the temperature of a sample to be maintained at a constant specific value.
It generally comprises a heat source linked to a reservoir with a very large heat-storage capacity which is able to receive or lose small amounts of heat without its temperature significantly increasing or decreasing.
For example: a thermostatically controlled water bath for studying rates of reactions.
